Nikola Jokic addresses Nuggets’ 3-game losing skid

Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets have lost their last three games, but they remain frontrunners to clinch the top spot in the Western Conference.

The two-time reigning NBA MVP and the Nuggets are coming off losses to the Brooklyn Nets, San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls, playing poor basketball especially defensively.

Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic, who posted his 27th triple-double this season with 35 points, 20 rebounds, and 11 assists in the loss to the Nets, said the Nuggets have to improve on both ends to get back on track.

“Even in the All-Star break, somebody asked me what the goal will be. I told him that we are going to fall down and the key would be not stopping to believe in what brought us to the number one seed,” Nikola Jokic said afterwards.

Denver is on top of the West standings with a 46-22 record, five games ahead of the Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies, who share the top spot, at 40-26.

The Nuggets will tip off a five-game road trip, with games vs the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards.
