The Memphis Grizzlies don’t expect superstar guard Ja Morant to return to the lineup anytime soon, as he continues to deal with his off-court issues.

According to Shams Charania of The Atheltic, Morant will be sidelined for the ‘foreseeable future’, as he has entered a counseling program in Florida.

“Ja Morant has been receiving counseling in Florida for the last week. I’m told that the Grizzlies expectation is that he’s gonna be out still for the foreseeable future,” the NBA insider said during an appearance on FanDuel.

Morant has been out during the past six games for a social media post, where he live streamed himself holding what appeared to be a gun at a nightclub. The incident took place in Denver on Saturday, March 4.

The NBA has an ongoing investigation into the matter and the franchise has repeatedly indicated publicly that Morant will be held accountable for a pattern of questionable decision-making and behavior, as he remains suspended.

This is at least the second time in the last few weeks that Ja Morant, who has deactivated his social media accounts, has been the subject of a league investigation for his actions on and off the court.

Ja Morant is averaging 27.1 points and 8.2 assists per game, while the Grizzies are second in the Western Conference standings with a 41-26 record, 4.5 games behind the West leaders Denver Nuggets (46-22), who are on a 3-game losing skid.
