The Milwaukee Bucks rallied past the Phoenix Suns at Vivint Center (116-104) ane became the first team to clinch a playoff spot in the NBA.
The Eastern Conference powerhouse had to defeat the Suns or see the New York Knicks lose to the Portland Trail Blazers. Both Milwaukee and New York claim victories, so the 2021 NBA champions advanced to the postseason for another year.
Milwaukee leads the way in the East standings with an NBA-best 50-19 record, three games ahead of the second-placed Boston Celtics (49-22). The Bucks have won 21 of their last 23 games, while the Suns lost their third in a row and fell to 37-32 in the West.
