Karl-Anthony Towns is getting close to his return to the Minnesota Timberwolves lineup, as he is recovering from a right calf injury.

The All-Star big man has been out since November 28, 2022 and has missed the Wolves’ last 48 games. On Wednesday, Minnesota provided an update on Towns’ condition, stating that he continues to progress and has been participating in basketball activities.

Hence, his return is set to happen in the coming weeks, which means that he may be available for the final games of the regular season, which ends on April 9.

In 21 games this season, Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 20.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists, on 50.5% shooting from the field.

Minnesota was 10-11 when Towns got injured and has gone 25-23 in the 48 games he has missed. The Wolves have won four of their last six games and are currently seventh in the West standings with a 35-34 record, just a game behind the Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers, who share the fifth place, at 36-33.

After playing in all 82 games in his first three seasons in the league, Karl-Anthony Towns has missed significant time to injuries and illnesses since then.
