Golden State Warriors star forward Andrew Wiggins is dealing with an off-court issue that may cost him the rest of the 2022/23 season.

Wiggins has been out since February 14 and it is uncertain whether he will return on time for the regular season finale and the postseason. It seems, though, that his issue is very serious, even though both the player and the team remain silent about it.

“What he’s dealing with, is some real (expletive),” the anonymous Warriors player told The Athletic’s Marcus Thompson II.

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said he is hopeful Andrew Wiggins, who has missed the last 13 games, will return this season, but at the moment all options are open concerning the All-Star forward’s availability for the remainder of the season.

Andrew Wiggins is experiencing a lot of ups and downs this season. He was out for a month between December and January, due to an adductor strain and subsequent illness. Now, he is out for personal reasons with no indications as to the issue he is dealing with.

In 37 games so far, Wiggins has been averaging 17.1 points, five rebounds and 2.3 assists, on 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from beyond the arc. The Warriors are sixth in the West standings with a 36-34 record.
