Valencia snaps 4-game losing skid to stay alive in playoff race

Valencia survived a late thriller over Fenerbahce at La Fonteta (82-80) and kept its EuroLeague playoff chances intact.

It was a late thriller that was decided in the final seconds after Marko Guduric tied the game with a three-pointer. In the final play, Jared Harper missed the layup, but James Webb’s tip-in, with 0.3 seconds to go, handed the Spaniards the victory.

In a game where no team led by more than nine points, Valencia stood tall and endured the Turks’ comeback to protect its home court and stay alive in the playoff race. On the contrary, Fenerbahce suffered a painful road loss in its effort to finish in the Top-4.

“It was a great win for us. We did a great job playing on both sides of the ball. That was a big play by [James] Webb at the end, getting the tip-in. And we are still in the fight to get to the playoffs,” Jared Harper said afterwards.
