Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman has been hospitalized with an upper respiratory illness, the Turkish powerhouse announced Sunday.
The veteran head coach is dealing with the illness since early last week, but he was on the bench during the games vs Real Madrid and Partizan las week. However, his condition deteriorated and has now been hospitalized.

As the club said in a stament, it is stil unclear whether he will be able to coach his players in the must-win road game vs ALBA Berlin on Thursday, March 23.
Anadolu Efes is outside the playoff zone with a 14-15 record in the standings, but just one win away from Baskonia and Zalgiris Kaunas, who share the final playoff spot. There are five games remaining for the end of the regular season.
