Nikola Kalinic addresses Barcelona’s EuroLeague title chances

Nikola Kalinic gave an interesting take when talked about Barcelona’s EuroLeague title chances, as we are getting closer to the regular season finale.

Despite being among the grand favorites for the home-court advantage in the postseason, the Serbian forward doesn’t think his team is ready to claim the championship.

“I don’t think we are ready to win the EuroLeague title at the moment. This is maybe a scary statement, but we are heading to the right direction and we still have time to improve our performance. We have elevated our game on both ends, but our mental preparation will be crucial in the playoffs.

As I said earlier in the season, Olympiacos is the favorite to claim the title, they are an experienced team and have the momentum on their side. They are on top of the standings, while we have a good chance as well, along with Real Madrid and Fenerbahce.

Certainly, we shouldn’t rule out teams like Anadolu Efes and Armani Milano, it will be difficult to beat them three times if they reach the postseason,” Nikola Kalinic said in an interview with Sasa Ozmo from SportKlub Srbija.

Nikola Kalinic has been a key part in the Catalans’ roster this season. He has appeared in 29 games so far, averaging 6.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 24 minutes on the floor.

Barcelona is third in the standings with a 19-10 record and tied with Monaco. The “Blaugrana” are two wins behind league leaders Olympiacos (21-8) and one win behind the “Whites”, who are second with a 20-9 record. This week, the Catalans have the opportunity to clinch a playoff spot with a win over Panathinaikos at OAKA Altion.
