Zeljko Obradovic praises Olympiacos; explains why the “Reds” are on top

Partizan head coach Zeljko Obradovic had high praise for Olympiacos ahead of Friday’s home game at Stark Arena in Belgrade. The legendary head coach is expecting a tough battle vs the “Reds” and explained why the Greek powerhouse is on top of the standings.

“Olympiacos deserves to be on top, because they play excellent basketball. They play as a team and they don’t depend on just one player, because they have excellent ball movement and they are patient offensively.

Their ball movement lets them create open shots or spot shots, while they are great in switch defense and even big man Moustapha Fall (2,18m) switches dfensively. Their biggest advantage is their defense and they are great in transition, with several players capable of making the difference in that playing style,” Zeljko Obradovic told Partizan TV.

In their remaining regular season games, Partizan will host Olympiacos, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Panathinaikos and their only road game will be vs Monaco on April 7.

Meanwhile, Olympiacos will play Partizan (road), ASVEL Villeurbanne (home), Panathinaikos (home), Crvena Zvezda (road) and Baskonia (home).
