Heat deal with tough Tyler Herro injury update after Game 1 triumph over Bucks

The Miami Heat triumphed over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 (130-117), but saw Tyler Herro exit with a hand injury.

The star sharpshooter guard suffered the injury late in the second quarter while diving for a loose ball. Herro was in pain and went to the locker room and didn’t return. Miami later anounced that he broke his right hand.

“He’s not going to play the next game, and then we’ll just figure it out,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said afterwards. “I got the same diagnosis that you all heard.”

After the game, NBA insider Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report revealed that Tyler Herro will miss at least a month of action, which could sideline him for the rest of the season, if the Heat don’t reach the NBA Finals.

“Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro broke the middle and ring finger on his shooting hand and is expected to be out approximately 4-6 weeks,” Chris Haynes reports.

Tyler Herro had 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the field to go with two rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes on the floor. Game 2 takes place in Milwaukee on Wednesday, April 19.
