Sixers in search of a new head coach after dismissing Doc Rivers

The Philadelphia 76ers are in search of a new head coach after parting ways with Doc Rivers on Tuesday.

Rivers’ dismissal comes just a couple of days after the Game 7 loss to the Boston Celtics (88-112) and the elimination from the Eastern Conference Finals.

The veteran head coach led the team to 54 wins this year, the most since the 2000-2001 season, when Philadelphia last played in the NBA Finals.

The Sixers were also one of the three teams that were Top-10 on both offense and defense this season, when it comes to efficiency.

Doc Rivers, who has 16 straight winning seasons, spent three years with Philadelphia. Mike Budenholzer, Nick Nurse and Monty Williams will be candidates to replace Rivers.
