Nick Nurse among 3 top candidates to take over Bucks

Nick Nurse has been among the three top candidates to replace Mike Budenholzer and take over the Milwaukee Bucks.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Bucks have narrowed their coaching search to Nick Nurse, Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson and Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin.

Nurse spent a total of 10 seasons with the Toronto Raptors, leading the team to the 2019 NBA championship.

He parted ways with the franchise after losing to the Chicago Bulls in the play-in tournament and getting eliminated from the playoffs.

For their part, the Bucks fired coach Budenholzer after five years and one championship (2021), following the elimination from the Miami Heat in the opening round of the playoffs.
