A few days after parting ways with the Philadelphia 76ers, Doc Rivers has emerged as a top candidate to take over the Phoenix Suns and replace Monty Williams, who parted ways with the franchise last week.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Doc Rivers is among the Top-4 candidates that the Suns will promote for a final round of interviews, alongside Nick Nurse, Suns associate head coach Kevin Young and Sacramento Kings associate head coach Jordi Fernandez.

Nick Nurse is also a top candidate to take over the Milwaukee Bucks, who decided to dismiss Mike Budenholzer after five years and one NBA championship (2021).

Meanwhile, Rivers, who has 16 straight winning seasons, spent three years with Philadelphia. The veteran head coach led the team to 54 wins this year, the most since the 2000/2001 season, when Philadelphia last played in the NBA Finals.

The Sixers were also one of the three teams that were Top-10 on both offense and defense this season, when it comes to efficiency.
