EuroLeague rumors: Monaco considers parting ways with head coach Sasa Obradovic; Pascual, Trinchieri emerge as candidates

Monaco is considering parting ways with head coach Sasa Obradovic at the end of the season, according to Eurohoops.net, with Xavi Pascual and Andrea Trinchieri emerging as candidates to take over.

Sasa Obradovic is under contract with the Monegasques until the end of the 2024/25 season, but it seems the management wants to move to a different direction. Still there is no official information on how the club will move in the offseason.

If Sasa Obradovic leaves Monaco, Xavi Pascual and Andrea Trinchieri will be the top candidates to replace him. Pascual has one year left in his contract with Zenit Saint Peterburg, but has an opt-out clause and can leave the Russians this offseason.

Meanwhile, Trinchieri will be a free agent, as his contract with Bayern Munich expires and the Bavarians plan to hire Pablo Laso.

Under Sasa Obradovic, who took over in late 2021, Monaco reached the playoffs in 2022 and competed in the 2023 EuroLeague Final Four, finishing third.
