Jimmy Butler on the Heat reaching the NBA Finals: “We play to win the whole thing”

Jimmy Butler is not satisfied with the Miami Heat becoming Eastern Conference champions and now has his sights set on winning the NBA title.

The All-Star guard/forward and Eastern Conference Finals MVP made it clear that nobody in the team is satisfied yet and they have shifted their focus to the bigger picture – the NBA Finals.

“Nobody is satisfied. We haven’t done anything. We don’t play just to win the Eastern Conference. We play to win the whole thing,” Jimmy Butler said.

With Jimmy Butler leading the way, Miami has exceeded expectations this postseason after becoming just the second No.8 seed in history to reach the NBA Finals.

The Heat were the No.8 seed in the Eastern Conference and eliminated the team with the best record in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks (58-24), the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics.

Against the Celtics, they nearly blew a 3-0 lead before they finally ended Boston’s season in Game 7 on Monday (103-84).

They will now take on the Denver Nuggets, who aim for the first NBA title in franchise history, after finishing the year as the top seed in the West and eliminating the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns and the LA Lakers in the previous rounds.

Game 1 and 2 take place in Denver on Thursday, June 1st, and Sunday, June 4th, respectively.
