Goran Dragic expresses desire to retire with Heat

Goran Dragic shared his willingness to return to the Miami Heat this offseason and end his career with the franchise he spent six years with.

The Slovenian star guard joined the Heat in 2015 and stayed with the team until the end of the 2020/21 season, reaching the NBA Finals in 2020 in the Orlando Bubble.

“I live here. My kids are here. If I’m looking to finish my career it would be no brainer to finish it in Miami. This is my home. I spent unbelievable seven years here.

“I love all the players and all the people in the front office. Coach O [Octavio De La Grana), coach Spo [Erik Spoelstra], coach Quinny [Chris Quinn]. Those guys gave me everything. This [Miami] is the city I see myself in the future,” Goran Dragic said.

With the Heat, Goran Dragic played the best basketball of his career, while becoming an All-Star in 2018. Miami is now competing in the NBA Finals for the second time in the last four years and trails the series with the Denver Nuggets 1-0. Game 2 is Sunday in Denver.
