Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone doesn’t want his players to get over-excited following the easy win over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals (93-104).
The veteran coach knows that his team hasn’t achieved anything yet until they claim four wins and earn the championship.
“We’re up 1-0, congratulations, we haven’t done a damn thing. Our goal wasn’t to win 1 game in the Finals, our goal is to win 3 more,” Michael Malone told his players after the game.
With Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray combining for 53 points, the Denver Nuggets rallied past the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals (93-104).
Denver took over from the opening tip and led by as many as 24, with Miami attempting to turn things around multiple times. But, the Nuggets relied on their defense, allowed just 63 points after three quarters and 93 overall and went on to win the game.
Michael Malone wanted to keep his team locked in, as Game 2 is Sunday in Denver before the series shifts to Miami for Games 3 (Wednesday) and 4 (Friday).
