Bam Adebayo was pretty clear when he was asked about how important the NBA Finals are for him and the rest of the Miami Heat roster.
The All-Star big man said the NBA Finals are “what we are playing for” and called it an ‘opportunity that we don’t want to slip away’.
“I mean, this is the Finals. This is what we live for. This is the opportunity that we have. This is the opportunity that we don’t want to let slip away. So biggest thing for me, man, I go out there, I play with a will, I play with passion and I try to leave it all on the court,” Bam Adebayo told media after Game 2.
En route to the NBA Finals, Bam Adebayo and the Heat eliminated three teams who finished higher than them in the East standings and became just the second No.8 seed in league history to reach the Finals.
This is the fourth straight series that Miami has won one of the first two games on the road and head coach Erik Spoelstra explained his team’s mental toughness and ability to defy the odds.
The series now shifts to Miami for Games 3 and 4 this week, while Game 5 takes place in Denver on Monday, June 12.
