Steve Kerr praises Heat for team chemistry, winning mentality amid NBA Finals

Steve Kerr had high praise for the Miami Heat, who are fighting for their first NBA championship in 10 years.

The head coach of the Golden State Warriors praised the Heat for their chemistry and their winning mentality, which has been key to their remarkable NBA Finals run this year.

“None of those guys on Miami are sitting there saying, ‘Well I didn’t play’ or ‘Man, they put in so and so.’ They’re just all about winning,” Steve Kerr said during his appearance on Draymond Green podcast.

Steve Kerr echoed Jimmy Butler’s comments, with the All-Star forward stating that the Heat focus only on their game and how they will do their best on the floor and pay no attention to the outside noise and what people think about them.

“I just think nobody cares on our team. We’re not worried about what anybody thinks. We’re so focused in on what we do well and who we are as a group that at the end of the day, that’s what we fall back on.

“Make-or-miss shots, we’re going to be who we are because we’re not worried about anybody else. That’s how it’s been all year long, and that’s not going to change. So that’s what I think it is. I think it’s the “I don’t give a damn” factor,” Jimmy Butler told media after Game 2 triumph over the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals (111-108).

En route to the NBA Finals, the Heat eliminated three teams who finished higher than them in the East standings and became just the second No.8 seed in league history to reach the Finals.

The series with the Nuggets (currently tied at 1-1) shifts to Miami for Games 3 and 4 this week, while Game 5 takes place in Denver on Monday, June 12.
