Tyler Herro expected to play in Game 5 vs Nuggets

Tyler Herro is expected to be available for the Miami Heat’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals vs the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

The All-Star guard has been upgraded to questionable and is expected to suit up for the game, barring any setback, as Tyler Herro was still experiencing discomfor in his right hand.

“I’m not that irascible, am I? (Laughter.) Ramona and I are in a great place. I was not talking about Ramona. Sometimes people read me wrong. So we’re talking about Herro. No new update.

“He’s doing another contact workout today. I probably won’t have anything for you tomorrow morning — oh, we don’t have a shootaround,” Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra told media on Sunday.

When Tyler Herro underwent surgery to repair his broken right hand on April 21, the Heat announced that the guard would miss a minimum of six weeks. He was cleared to resume basketball activities on May 23, but it was unclear when he would be able to return.

En route to the NBA Finals, the Heat eliminated three teams who finished higher than them in the East standings and became just the second No.8 seed in league history to reach the Finals.

Game 5 is tonight in Denver. If the Heat won, a Game 6 will be played in Miami on Thursday, June 15. If the Nuggets win, they will claim the championship. for the first time in franchise history.
