Olympiacos owners addressed the future of star players Kostas Sloukas, Kostas Papanikolaou and Sasha Vezenkov and shared their willingness to keep them in the team.
Sloukas and Papanikolaou are free agents, but are in talks with the club for a new contract. Meanwhile, Vezenkov is under contract, but the Sacramento Kings are expected to make him an offer soon.
“Right now this is a night of celebrations. Let’s not worry. Let’s not look at the next day. It is a given that both players belong to Olympiacos. They must stay at Olympiacos. We want them and we will do everything.”
“You got tired from what you went through during the game and you forgot Kostas Papanikolaou. It’s still a contract that has expired. I’m not going to name names, but we can’t forget him, our captain. As long as the two of us are together at Olympiakos, nothing worries us,” Panagiotis and Giorgos Aggelopoulos told media on Thursday after the “Reds” won the Greek championship.
In a chaotic Game 4 at OAKA Altion, Olympiacos claimed the Greek Basket League title after the game got forfeited.
This was the third domestic title for the “Reds”, after winning the Greek Cup and SuperCup earlier in the season. They ended the season on the best way possible after reaching the EuroLeague Championship Game.
