Real Madrid signs 1-year extension with Sergio Rodriguez

After the extension of Rudy Fernandez, Real Madrid kept another veteran in the roster for the 2023/24 season.

This time, it was Sergio Rodriguez that agreed to a new deal with the “Whites” and will stay with the club for another year.

The 37-year-old guard was a key member of the Real squad that became the 2022/23 EuroLeague champion, as he paired 12 points with 5 assists in the semi-final against Barcelona before recording 15 points and 9 assists in the Championship Game triumph over Olympiacos (78-79).

The Spaniard is heading into his 14th EuroLeague season and his eighth with Real Madrid, having returned for a second spell at the club in the summer of 2021.

Sergio Rodriguez spent four years in the NBA (2006-2010) before joining Real Madrid for six years (2010-2016). He then returned to the NBA (2016-2017) before returning to Europe to play for CSKA Moscow and Armani Milano. He re-joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2021.
