Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young has made his intentions clear regarding his participation in the 2024 Olympic Games with Team USA.
In an appearance at Gilbert Arenas’ Gil’s Arena, Young said he wants to be part of Team USA’s roster that will travel to Paris next summer.
“Obviously, I definitely want to [play in the Olympics with Team USA]. I’ve talked about playing for Team USA a couple of times. I definitely want to and it’s up to them if they want me to.
“I would love to play with those guys and show off my passing even more and not have to go out and score a lot. Just be there if they need me to. I respect the OGs and understand that you got to take your turn. But I believe I should be on the team,” Trae Young said.

The superstar guard has yet to play for Team USA ever since he joined the league back in 2018. If Trae Young plays in Paris, he will make his debut with the national team in international basketball.
Team USA is currently preparing for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, which kicks off in less than three weeks. The Americans will take on Greece, New Zealand and Jordan in the group stage.
