EuroLeague rumors: Usman Garuba set to return to Real Madrid

Usman Garuba is expected to return to Real Madrid after two years in the NBA, according to Carlos Sánchez Blas.

The Spanish center spent the past two seasons in the NBA with the Houston Rockets, before getting traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. OKC waived him earlier in the summer and has been a free agent since then. He is now a step away from his return to the club and the “Whites” expect to sign him by the end of the week.

Usman Garuba averaged 8.2 points and four rebounds in the FIBA World Cup, where Spain failed to defend its title and got eliminated in the second round.

Playing for Real Madrid, Garuba claimed the ACB title (2019) and the Supercopa (2020), while winning the 2021 EuroLeague Rising Star award.
