Sergio Scariolo addressed the status of Iffe Lundberg, as Virtus Bologna continue their preparation for the coming season.
The Italian coach revealed that the Danish guard will not be part of the team this season and confirmed his departure.
“It is a decision made by the club which naturally has absolute priority at the moment, Let’s see what the evolution will be in the next few days. I must say that Iffe is training with great seriousness and professionalism, as he always did last year too,” Scariolo said, via Eurohoops.net.
“We are now waiting for our players to return, as Isaia, Toko, Alessandro, and Achille have already done. Lundberg’s case is different because he is not considered among the players who will be available to the first team and therefore cannot be counted as an absence,” he added.
“It’s a decision for which it doesn’t matter who makes it externally, what matters is the line that it’s chosen on which to be compact and homogeneous, after the various internal evaluations,” Sergio Scariolo said.
Last season, Iffe Lundberg struggled to find some game time and averaged 8.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game in the EuroLeague.
