Olympiacos’ legend Vassilis Spanoulis calls jersey retirement ceremony an ‘incredible honor’

Vassilis Spanoulis will see his No.7 jersey retired by Olympiacos in a special ceremony that will take place at Peace and Friendship Stadium on Sunday, September 17.

The Greek legend spoke with EuroLeague.net heading into the event and called his jersey retirement ceremony an ‘incredible honor’.

“It is an incredible honor for me and I’m proud for this moment. I will try to stay calm and not be sensitive. I will try to enjoy it. Such a connection between me and the presidents, me and the people of Olympiacos, me and the fans of Olympiacos. It’s something incredible. It’s something that is real. It’s real love, it is not fake love. It is coming from the heart, and from them to me and from me to them. And it’s something that will stay forever,” Vassilis Spanoulis said.
