Celtics bolster backcourt line after Jrue Holiday trade

The Boston Celtics have bolstered their backcourt line with the addition of All-Star guard Jrue Holiday. Holiday arrives from the Portland Trail Blazers, who landed him as part of the megatrade that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks a few days ago.

Portland didn’t want to keep Holiday to the roster and sent him to Boston, which covered Marcus Smart’s gap the best possible way. Meanwhile, the Blazers landed an elite defender in Robert Williams and Malcolm Brogdon, who has thrived in a Sixth Man role. It is unclear, though, if they will keep him in the roster or will try to trade him.

For their part, the Celtics created their own Big Four in Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis and will now go all-in for the title.
