Kawhi Leonard shares thoughts on James Harden ahead of Clippers’ debut

The Los Angeles Clippers lost to Lakers last night as they’re waiting for James Harden to make his debut after a blockbuster trade with the Sixers. The Clippers added another star alongside Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Russell Westbrook and they are hoping that they will be champions at the end of the NBA season.

According to Shams Charania, James Harden is expected to make his debut on Monday in New York vs. the Knicks. Harden has yet to make an appearance this season after averaging 21 points and led the league with 10.7 assists per contest last year.

“Once it went down, I was in bed at the time. Excited. He’s one of the best players to step on an NBA floor. We’ve got a lot to figure out, and I’m happy for him. Ready to see him play in a Clipper jersey,” Kawhi Leonard told reporters Wednesday, per Farbod Esnaashari of Sports Illustrated.

The 10-time All-Star hasn’t made an All-NBA team since 2019-20, and did not make the All-Star Game last season. His fit with the star-studded Clippers might be what he needs to reach the goal of winning an NBA championship.

“We still have to step on that floor like we are out there by ourselves, and from there, it is going to be sacrifice. It’s only one basketball, and we just got to figure it out from there,” Leonard told the media.

The Clippers will need time to mesh in as a team in a tough Western Conference that includes NBA reigning champions Denver Nuggets and the 2021-22 NBA titleholders Golden State Warriors, who added Chris Paul in the past offseason.
