EuroLeague rumors: Milan sets sights on former Lakers guard Shaquille Harrison

Olimpia Milan is looking in the market to address their guard struggles and they have set the sights on Shaquille Harrison. The 30-years-old point guard has been a six-year veteran in the NBA having mostly a minimal role from the bench.

As Eurodevotion reported first, the Italian giants were looking into the potential of signing the former Memphis Grizzlies guard. According to Basketnews.com, the two sides are in advanced negotiations.

Harrison has accumulated 180 NBA games in his resume having stints with the Chicago Bulls, the Brooklyn Nets, the Utah Jazz, the Denver Nuggets and the Portland Trail Blazers. Last season, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs.

Harrison has career averages of 5.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 15.4 minutes. He has 23 starts under his belt through his six-year stint in the NBA. Last year, he also spent time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers.

He posted 12.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 33.1 minutes with the Lakers G League affiliate before entering the Los Angeles 2023 playoff roster.

The undrafted guard was the G League Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 and was part of the league’s All-Defensive Teams in 2022 and 2023. Milan has been struggling with its guard play to start the 2023/24 EuroLeague season.

Maodo Lo has missed the start of the season with injury and he’s still trying to find its footing with his new club while Billy Baron will be out until the end of December. Milan started the EuroLeague season slow with one win in six games.
