Bradley Beal shares thoughts on minute restriction, Suns’ debut

Bradley Beal made his first appearance in an official NBA game with the Phoenix Suns in the 116-115 OT win over the Chicago Bulls. Beal stayed on the floor for 24 minutes and did not enter the court in the overtime due to his minutes restriction.

The former Wizards’ guard finished the game with 13 points,4 rebounds and 4 assists. He started the contest with a pair of 3-pointers, but he struggled with his shot for the rest of the night.

This was also Beal’s first time playing alongside Kevin Durant, who finished with 25 points on 7-of-16 shooting and nine assists in 42 minutes.

“I can be hard-headed and go play 30 minutes when I know I’m not supposed to,” Beal told reporters.  “But how will I feel after that? Probably not the greatest. So that’s why I lean on our staff and our doctors to be the voice for me. Because I’ll be hard-headed and go out there and play.”

The Suns have been at least shaky due to injuries. The superstar trio of Durant, Booker and Beal have not played together so far as Booker missed his third consecutive game dealing with a calf injury.

It’s still unclear when he will return, but Booker went through a workout with team staff on the court before the start of the game between Suns and Bulls. The Suns (4-4) will return to action on Friday to play against the Lakers.
