Stephen Curry reveals reason the Warriors need to show urgency after loss to Kings

After their disappointing loss to the Sacramento Kings Tuesday, Stephen Curry revealed the reason the Warriors need to be more urgent in the next few games. The Golden State Warriors failed to make the NBA in-season tournament and their struggles continues, having lost 8 of their last 10.

“With 64 games we have left, you have that in bank. But you do get to a certain point in the first 20 games that takes stock of where you are in the next 20 you really kind of show what you are about because that’s where the standings start to kind of materialize,” Stephen Curry told media.

The Warriors dropped a 24-point lead and let the Kings comeback and win the contest in the final shot made by Malik Monk. Curry missed the potential winning three in the last possession.

“You don’t want to be in a position where you’re chasing because we’ve been in that position before and it’s tough to grind all the way to the last half of the season worrying where you are placed in the standings and then transition to a playoff series with the right kind of energy,” Curry said.

“For us, there is urgency for sure, it’s not panic. These next window games all matter to kind of get healthy and show who we can be.”

The Warriors are struggling to put together a good sequence of performances after a strong start in the first two weeks of the NBA season. With that said, Chris Paul left Tuesday’s game and was ruled out with lower left leg soreness.

It remains to be seen if the 2022 NBA champions can bring their game up a notch after going through a disappointing stint the last few weeks.
