De’Aaron Fox turns down Kings’ $105M extension offer

De’Aaron Fox turned down Sacramento Kings max contract offer, Chris Haynes reported during his appearance in the #thisleague UNCUT podcast. The NBA reporter said that Fox declined a 2-year, $105M extension from the Kings.

The decision is not reflecting any desire to leave Sacramento, but he hopes to become eligible for a four-year, max extension in the future if he becomes an All-NBA player this season, Haynes noted (via RealGm).

Fox will likely have the chance to become an All-NBA player this season after making his first All-Star appearance last year. In the current situation, a 2-year, $105m was the max that the Kings could offer to Fox.

Through 14 games, De’Aaron Fox is averaging 30.3 points and 6.4 assists while shooting 47.9 percent overall and 35.7 percent from three-point range. Sacramento are 11-8 and hold the fifth place in the West.

Fox is signed for two more seasons, and he’s headed toward a significant raise in 2026 regardless of whether he makes an All-NBA team before then.
