Fenerbahce makes deal with Sarunas Jasikevicius official

Fenerbahce has found the replacement of Dimitris Itoudis after hiring Sarunas Jasikevicius as the new head coach. The deal between the two sides is for two and a half years and will keep the Lithuanian coach with the club through the summer of 2026.

“Everything happened very quick in the process of my arrival. Of course it’s not easy, but at the end of the day we are here to do our job: to help Fenerbahce to win games and hopefully achieve great success. I’m definitely very excited to be here. There are so many familiar faces for me, so many familiar sights and places,” Sarunas Jasikevicius said after officially taking over the club, via EuroLeague.net.

“I realize it’s not an easy situation, so we will need everyone’s support. But little by little, we will try to implement some new ideas. I am grateful for this opportunity and I am looking forward to this new chapter.”

Sarunas Jasikevicius returns to the EuroLeague a few months after his departure from Barcelona. Meanwhile, Dimitris Itoudis leaves the club 18 months after his hiring.

Under the Greek coach, the Turks failed to claim the Turkish League and/or the EuroLeague. Their current record is 6-7 and will host Monaco on Friday. The Monegasques are fourth with an 8-5 record.
