Isaiah Canaan reveals ambition for season; feels comfortable in Olympiacos system

Isaiah Canaan has been feeling quite comfortable in Olympiacos system after spending last season in and out of the Giorgos Bartzokas rotation.

The American guard explained why he feels comfortable in Olympiacos system and the goal that the team set after making the EuroLeague fina-4 in two consecutive seasons.

“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else at this part of my career. My ambition and my goal is to have every chance and opportunity that I can to win a EuroLeague title,” Canaan said on EuroLeague.net.

“I got a taste of that last season and I want to continue and do whatever I can to get back.”

Canaan has been doing everything he can to contribute in an injury-plagued season for Olympiacos so far. The Reds are sitting at 9-8 after the first 17 games of the 2023/24 campaign.

Isaiah Canaan still believes that the club will bounce back in the second part of the season expressing his faith to Giorgos Bartzokas more team-oriented system.

“It’s pretty nice working with Coach. He allows you to be who you are through the team’s system and rules,” Canaan noted. “He pushes you to try to bring out the best version of you, regardless of who you are or where you come from. He is big on team concepts.”

The former Bulls and Rockets guard is having one of the most efficient seasons of his career averaging 12.3 points on 50 2PT%/50 3PTS%/83 FT% shooting splits through 17 games.
