Codi Miller-McIntyre makes EuroLeague history vs ASVEL Villeurbanne

Codi Miller-McIntyre made EuroLeague history on Thursday, after leading Baskonia past ASVEL Villeurbanne at Fernando Buesa Arena (94-80). The American guard posted a monster triple-double of 11 points, 11 rebounds and 20 assists for a PIR of 42, setting a new EuroLeague record in assists.

Miller-McIntyre had 10 assists in the first half and another 10 in the second, surpassing Facundo Campazzo and Nick Calathes, who had 19 each.

Codi Miller-McIntyre got a standing ovation from Baskonia fans during his exit from the game, after completing the triple-double with 1:19 remaining in the game.

Codi Miller-McInture is now the holder of the record for the most assists in the EuroLeague. His 20 assists is also a career high for him, as his previous record was 15 assists.

“It means a lot, especially for me. I have heard a lot of rumors and people accusing me of not being a point guard. My teammates believed in me tonight. I hope now people can see that that’s my natural position. I am excited I got it. My teammates really helped me. They told me to keep going when I got tired. Thank you to them,” he said afterwards, via EuroLeague.net.

Miller-McIntyre has appeared in 26 EuroLeague games with averages of 8.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 7.2 assists for a PIR of 13.7. Baskonia is eigth in the standings with a 14-12 record.
