LeBron James remains committed to Team USA; says health status will determine if he will play in the Olympics

LeBron James was one of the first NBA megastars that committed to Team USA for the 2024 Olympic Games this summer.

Just a few months before the start of the competition, the LA Lakers superstar said that he is still committed to Team USA, but his health status will determine whether he will be good to go. He revealed, though, that at the moment he is healthy enough to play in the Olympics.

“I told myself before the season, when I committed to being part of the Olympic team, obviously it was all predicated on my health. As it stands right now, I am healthy enough to be on the team and perform at a level that I know I can perform at,” LeBron James said a few days ago, via Basketnews.com.

LeBron James is part of Team USA’s preliminary roster for the Olympics. At the age of 39, it will be the final time that he will play for the national team.

LeBron James among NBA megastars that have committed to Team USA for the Olympics

LeBron James is only one of the NBA megastars that have committed to Team USA for the Olympics.

Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum and Bam Adebayo have also announced their desire to play for Team USA. The same goes for reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid, if he is healthy enough to play.

Team USA will have a roster full of megastars for the competition, as they will look to bounce back from the fourth place in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

They will also seek to claim their fifth straight Olympic gold medal, while head coach Steve Kerr will step down after the competition.
