Nikola Milutinov returns to Olympiacos practice after 2 months

Nikola Milutinov has entered Olympiacos’ training session after missing the last two months due to injury. The Serbian big suffered an ankle sprain and he needed surgery to recover. Now, the “red and whites” declared that he’s ready to follow the team in Serbia for the contest against Crvena Zvezda.

Milutinov has split his time on the court with fellow superstar center Moustapha Fall. The Serbian was introduced back to Olympiacos roster with a short video that it was posted in the team’s social media accounts.

As a result, Milutinov seemed poised to make his comeback soon. The Serbian international was alongside his team in last week’s road game against Partizan where Olympiacos made a huge comeback from down 16 in the fourth quarter to secure a much-needed win in EuroLeague Round 32.

Kostas Papanikolaou also trained again on Tuesday as the Olympiacos’ captain was absent from the game against Aris.

Filip Petrusev out for Olympiacos’ crucial game vs Zvezda

In contrast with Milutinov, fellow Serbian big man Filip Petrusev is not expected to be back in action for the game against Crvena Zvezda. Petrusev will miss the game against his former team, as the Serbian big was part of Zvezda’s squad one year ago before starting the 2022-23 season in Philadelphia with the 76ers.

Petrusev is suffering from a knee injury that occurred in the game against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne for EuroLeague Round 31 on Mar.21. He was expected to miss a couple of weeks of action before getting back to the court. Olympiacos head coach Giorgos Bartzokas declared that he will be able to play before the end of the EuroLeague regular season.

Filip Petrusev has averages of 5.5 points and 3.2 rebounds for a PIR of 6.9 in 15 games for the “Reds” this season.
