Giannis Antetokounmpo after attending the Final-4: “I’m here for my brother”

Giannis Antetokounmpo is among the spectators in Berlin watching the action in Uber Arena in the first semi-final of the EuroLeague Final-4. The NBA superstar revealed the reason he’s in Berlin saying that he came to show support to his brother who is playing for Panathinaikos.

Kostas Antetokounmpo entered the court during the first half and offered a massive block that was heralded with excitement from his famous brother. Prior to the game, the two-times NBA MVP spoke about his willingness to root more for his brother.

“I’m just here for my brother. Obviously, I’m very excited to be here. This is my first Final Four. I wish luck to all the teams,” Giannis Antetokounmpo said in the EuroLeague pre-game show.

“So far, it’s been exciting, I’ve seen a lot of people excited for the games, and a lot of people have travelled from far away to support their team. I’m excited. I wish the best to everybody, but I wish the most luck to my brother.”

When he was asked about the two Greek teams that play for the title in the Uber Arena, he noted that he supports the Greek national team and he wished luck to all four contenders.

“I did not. I rooted for the national team,” he said when he was asked if he was supporting any of the two Greek teams when he was growing up in Athens. “Right now, I don’t root for the green or the red, I root for my brother,” Giannis Antetokounmpo concluded.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been part of the Greek national team during many international tournaments since 2013. He also worked his game during the summer in Greece doing training session in both Peace and Frienship stadium and OAKA.
