Dennis Schroder shares thoughts on future with the Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are in desperate need of signing star players alongside forward Mikal Bridges. Dennis Schroder, who joined the club mid-season and he’s a labelled as a potential filler in a trade.

In an interview with Braunschweig Zeitung, the 2023 FIBA World Champion reflected on his future with the NBA franchise.

“Brooklyn is a really cool, great organization, quite family-oriented,” said Schroder, via Netsdaily. “I’d definitely like to stick around for the long haul — My agent and I feel like the Nets liked how I contributed.

I’ve brought in more defense, teamwork and displayed leadership, but if someone as exceptional as Giannis Antetokounmpo or another superstar wants to join Brooklyn, the Nets could make deals to acquire that player … and that’s why nothing is certain in the NBA.”

Schroder has been a savvy NBA veteran who changed teams in 9 of his 11 years in the league. He averaged 14.6 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds on 42/41/80 shooting splits in 25 games with Brooklyn. His 41.2 percent shooting from three is a career-high.

With one season remaining in his current deal and its worth around $13 million, Schroder knows well that he’s a tradable piece for the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn is in desperate need of point guard play and with Ben Simmons often injured and unable to return to his All-Star form, the Nets will look for an addition in the guard rotation.
