The offseason moves have started to pile up as the EuroLeague teams build their rosters for next season and Zalgiris Kaunas is not an exception. As the club announced, Deividas Sirvydis became the first offseason signing for the Lithuanian giants.
The Lithuania NT sharpshooter will make his debut in the EuroLeague after an exceptional season in the EuroCup with Lietkabelis Panevezys. The former Detroit Pistons forward signed a deal for 2+1 seasons and he will make his debut in the EuroLeague with Zalgiris Kaunas.
“I’ve worked hard my entire career to get to the EuroLeague,” Sirvydis said in the press release on him joining Zalgiris.
“It’s very exciting. I can’t say I always expected to end up here, but perhaps somewhere deep down, I had that thought. The feeling is truly amazing. I can’t wait to help the team.”
Deividas Sirvydis was the leading scorer in last season’s EuroCup averaging 18.9 points on 42.3 percent from beyond the arc. He was part of the best-five in the Lithuanian league registering 15.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
Sirvydis was the 37th pick in the 2019 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons. He started his career in Rytas Vilnius before joining Hapoel Jerusalem in 2020. He stayed with the Pistons for two seasons between 2020-22 before returning to Europe for Lietkabelis.
