Evan Fournier remains a free agent after the Detroit Pistons’ decision to decline the team option on the French star guard, worth $19 million, and waive him. Amid interest from EuroLeague teams, Evan Fournier is willing to pursue another NBA run, seeking another contract.
“There will naturally be talk of EuroLeague interest in Evan Fournier after Detroit declined to pick up the Frenchman’s $19 million team option for next season, but league sources say Fournier prefers to try to continue his NBA career. He’s only 31 and expected to generate some NBA interest,” NBA insider Marc Stein wrote.
Fournier moved to the NBA back in 2012 and has played for a total of five teams. His best time in the league came with the Orlando Magic, where he spent seven years (2014-2021). As for EuroLeague teams, Olympiacos are frontrunners to sign him should he move to Europe.
