Bayern retains key roster figure on a 2-year extension

Bayern Munich is set to retain two-way guard Nick Weiler-Babb on a two-year extension as the club made known through its official channels. The announcement about the extension came after the club parted ways with Isaac Bonga.

The German-American guard has become a staple for Bayern Munich and was part of the team’s rise in the EuroLeague level which included an appearance in the playoffs.

Weiler-Babb, also part of the German national team, will continue with the Bavarians. In Pablo Laso’s lone season in Munich, the defensive specialist averaged 6.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

The Iowa product started his professional career with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg during the 2019-20 campaign. He moved to EuroLeague and Bayern Munich after a standout year in Ludwigsburg and he immediately became a contributor for the Munich-based club.

Nick Weiler-Babb is entering his fifth season with Bayern Munich and hopes that he can help the club return to the EuroLeague playoffs next year.

Isaac Bonga part ways with Bayern Munich

Before the announcement of the 2-year extension agreement with Nick Weiler-Babb, Bayern parted ways with starting forward Isaac Bonga after two seasons.

After two seasons with the German powerhouse, Bonga will continue his career in a fellow EuroLeague club.

Last season, the German international averaged 5.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 7.2 PIR per game in 31 appearances. The German league champions has yet to announce their new coach after Pablo Laso left the team to join Baskonia.
