Maccabi Tel-Aviv signs Roman Sorkin to 5-year contract extension

Maccabi Tel-Aviv has officially announced that big man Roman Sorkin has signed a five-year contract extension. The new deal will keep Sorkin with the team through the end of the 2028/29 season.

The 27-year-old big man moved to the Israeli powerhouse in the summer of 2021 and had averages of 6.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in the EuroLeague, where Maccabi came a step away from reaching the Final Four, but lost to the reigning champions Panathinaikos in Game 5.

Roman Sorkin was unstoppabvle in the Israeli Basket League and had averages of 16.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks to win the Israeli League MVP and Israeli League Finals MVP, respectively.

Amid an offseason full of roster changes, Maccabi saw Lorenzo Brown, Wade Baldwin, Bonzie Colson and Josh Nebo leave this summer, while they brought in star guard Jordan Loyd along with former NBA player Wenyen Gabriel, Levin Randolph and Jaylen Hoard. They also signed captain John DiBartolomeo to an one-year contract extension.
