Dante Exum questionable for 2024 Olympics after suffering injury

There is doubt about Dante Exum’s participation in Paris after suffering a concerning injury during the Australia NT contest against France Sunday night. Australia NT is preparing for the 2024 Olympics finishing the pre-tournament tune-ups with a close victory over France.

ESPN reported that the Australian combo guard is dealing with a dislocated finger. Exum checked himself out immediately after a driving into the lane during the exhibition game. The Dallas Mavericks’ guard status remains unknown with the opener of the 2024 being few days away.

Australia will face Spain on July 27 in a matchup for Group A that also includes Canada and Greece.

Exum is coming off a solid season with the Dallas Mavericks playing in the NBA Finals alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. He managed to average 11.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

Him missing the tournament could be a huge blow for the Australian national team, which finished the preparation face with a 5-1 record.

“It’s a concern, that’s all I know”, head coach Brian Goorjian said about Dante Exum in the post game presser after his team downed France 83-82.
