Ignas Brazdeikis had a massive EuroLeague debut with Zalgiris during the 2022-23 season that allowed him to move to the 2023 EuroLeague finalists, Olympiacos. The Lithuanian international is returning to his first EuroLeague club after just one season with Greek giants.
Brazdeikis signed a deal that will run through the 2025-26 season leaving behind an underwhelming season in Piraeus. He had a promising rookie EuroLeague season, averaging 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 22 minutes in Kaunas during the 2022-23 campaign.
He averaged 11 minutes per game, contributing 3.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists with Olympiacos spending most of the time as a deep bench option for the Reds. Brazdeikis will find a bigger role and more minutes in Zalgirio Arena.
Brazdeikis, who was selected 47th in the 2019 NBA Draft, has appeared in 64 NBA games with the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Orlando Magic. He had some strong performances there but not a role in an NBA roster and decided to move to Europe.
A Lithuanian born in Canada, Brazdeikis had a strong run in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup being the third top scorer of the Lithuania NT by averaging 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. The Kaunas club has already completed five offseason transactions ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
