Olympiacos have officially announced the return of Sasha Vezenkov to the club. The Reds took to social media and posted a video to welcome the former EuroLeague MVP, who returns to the team after a year in the NBA.
The Bulgarian big man has agreed to a five-year deal with the Greek giants, worth a total of 20.3 million euros. Olympiacos will host a press conference at Peace and Friendship Stadium on Thursday afternoon to welcome Sasha Vezenkov.
Vezenkov spent the previous season with the Sacramento Kings, but struggled to find his role in the team and the Kings traded him to the Toronto Raptors earlier in the month. The Raptors waived him on Monday and the EuroLeague star has now officially joined his former team.
Vezenkov becomes the fourth Olympiacos’ signing this offseason, after Keenan Evans, Luca Vildoza and Tyler Dorsey, while the Reds signed coach Giorgos Bartzokas to an 1-year extension that will keep him with the team through the summer of 2026.
