Spain head coach Sergio Scariolo provided an update on the status of Rudy Fernandez, who had to exit the game vs Greece midway through the fourth quarter, following a collision with Juancho Hernangomez.
Fernandez will undergo further medical evaluation, but according to coach Scariolo, his injury is not serious. Still, he remains questionable for the group stage finale against Canada on Friday, August 2.
“Rudy is doing okay. He was hit really hard, but there’s no risk of anything severe. However, we need to monitor him over the next few hours because he is questionable for the next game,” Sergio Scariolo told media in Lille, via Eurohoops.net.
Rudy Fernandez spent 19 minutes on the floor before his injury and had 10 points, on 3/6 from beyond the arc. Following its 84-77 win over the Greeks, Spain (1-1) kept its chances alive for the knockout stage and could advance even with a loss to Canada (2-0).
