Dante Exum says Australia has to be ‘ready’ for group stage finale vs Greece

Dante Exum and Australia will have to defeat Greece in the group stage finale on Friday, August 2 to clinch a spot in the knockout stage of the Olympic Basketball Tournament.

After their loss to Canada on Tuesday (93-83), the Boomers are in a must-win situation and Dante Exum has made it clear that his team will be ‘ready’ against the Greeks.

“This one hurts a little bit. We will go into the next game with the game plan and make sure we can control that game and come out with a win. They are hungry for a win and hungry to stay in the tournament. So, we need to be ready,” Dante Exum said afterwards, via Eurohoops.net.

Exum had 15 points, on 6/9 shooting, in his debut in the Olympic Basketball Tournament, but it wasn’t enough for the Aussies, who are now tied with Spain. Meanwhile, Greece is winless (0-2), but still has a chance to reach the knockout stage.
