Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had high praise for Team USA, as he and Canada are preparing for the quarter-finals of the Olympic Basketball Tournament. The Canadians can face Team USA only in the gold medal game, but should this happen, the NBA superstar expects his team to be prepared.
According to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, any team that will face Team USA has to play a perfect game to beat them. He added that the Canadians will be ready for whoever they take on en route to the gold medal.
“[Team USA] play to their strengths. They’re obviously very talented, & very deep. You almost have to make no mistakes & play a perfect game when you play against them… As far as Canada, we’ll be ready for whoever we see,” SGA said, via Clutchpoints.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the way for Canada with averages of 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals, on 65.2 percent shooting from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.
The Canadians will face hosts France for a spot in the semi-finals of the Olympic Basketball Tournament. Should they advance, they will play either Germany or Greece. On the other hand, Team USA will take on Brazil and if they qualify, they will clash with either Serbia or Australia.
