Bogdan Bogdanovic and Serbia recovered from the semi-final loss to Team USA on Thursday and finished their Olympic Basketball Tournament campaign with the bronze medal, after their 83-93 win over the reigning world champions Germany.
The superstar guard called the third place in the Olympics ‘a huge success’, as it comes just a year after the second place in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
“It’s a huge success winning the bronze medal at the Olympics. Of course there’s some sadness after that game against the USA, but we cannot go backwards. We can only be proud of what we have achieved today. It was a very difficult game, waking up at 7am and to come here at 11 to play and compete, I’m so proud of this achievement,” Bogdan Bogdanovic said, via FIBA.com.
Bogdanovic had 16 points in the third-place game against the Germans, while he had averages of 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists in the tournament, on 46.2 percent from beyond the arc.
The Serbians and the Germans have no desire to slow down and are already considered title contenders in the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket.
